Your Opportunity: Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective planning, training, direction, and coordination of the plant maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role oversees all aspects of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, wastewater treatment, and facilities maintenance, while ensuring alignment and collaboration with other departments. Key responsibilities include driving adherence to EAM system work orders, executing a robust preventive maintenance program, and developing the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team to support long-term plant performance and reliability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Coordinate and lead training and development programs to build technical capabilities within the Maintenance team.
  • Champion the use of the EAM maintenance system, ensuring accurate work order management, data integrity, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Oversee cycle counting activities to maintain accurate spare parts inventory levels.
  • Ensure manufacturing productivity and product quality by maintaining optimal equipment performance.
  • Drive programs that minimize preventable and predictable mechanical downtime through proactive maintenance practices.
  • Direct the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure, including HVAC, lift trucks, gas lines, boilers, elevators, and sprinkler systems.
  • Plan and manage maintenance department operations, including staffing, shift scheduling, and priority setting.
  • Participate in weekly staff and cross-functional meetings to align maintenance priorities with overall plant needs.
  • Maintain service contracts and ensure vendor compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations related to maintenance and wastewater operations.
  • Oversee maintenance department purchasing and manage all contracted services efficiently.
  • Negotiate and manage external maintenance and repair contracts to ensure cost-effective and timely service delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: A bachelor’s, associate’s, or trade/technical school degree in relevant technical field such as engineering, mechanics, equipment design.

Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years experience
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and application of pneumatics, hydraulics, construction design, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and waste water treatment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in mechanics, equipment design, and drafting.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and prior supervisory skills necessary to lead others and coordinate projects and repairs with contractors.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices and processes.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop multiple solutions to an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels within and outside the organization from corporate, regional and plant management to supervisors and employees in the production.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs and the ability to lift moderately heavy items.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP computer applications.
