Edward Jones has developed a new wealth management offering tailored to meet the unique needs of high-net-worth (HNW) clients and we need your help launching this new offering and brand, Edward Jones Generations™. We’re looking for strategic thinkers and collaborators who have a strong background in the many complex needs of financial planning as well as a deep desire to put their clients first in everything they do. The Edward Jones Generations™ team provides an end-to-end, HNW client experience by partnering with our branch teams to provide ongoing client services including holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning services via trusted 3rd parties, plan implementation via expanding sets of Edward Jones products and services, and ongoing reporting and support. 

What You Will Do:
The Private Banking Strategist role offers a unique opportunity to shape and launch a new offering within a dynamic, startup-like environment. This individual will work strategically and creatively to evolve the vision for the private banking strategist role, design the framework, and bring it to life in support of Generations associates, advisors, and clients. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact and help define what banking, lending, and cash management support looks like for high-net-worth (HNW) clients at Edward Jones.
 
This individual must have extensive experience and deep technical knowledge of banking, lending, and cash management services to deliver guidance, influence strategic development, and ensure alignment with the firm’s holistic wealth management approach

Responsibilities include:
  • Design and launch the private banking offering, including frameworks, processes, and best practices aligned with Generations’ goals and HNW client needs.                                                        
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex banking, lending, and cash management situations requiring deep technical knowledge.                                                        
  • Partner with senior planners, financial advisors, and third-party experts to deliver high-quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) for HNW clients.                                                        
  • Communicate effectively with advisors, HNW teams, and clients to understand goals, articulate complex strategies, and provide actionable recommendations.                                                        
  • Act as a conduit between Edward Jones, the Banking Business Unit, and third-party providers (e.g., U.S. Bank, HNW Referral Network) to ensure timely, customized solutions aligned with firm guidance.                                                        
  • Facilitate execution of banking, lending, and cash management strategies between third-party providers and HNW teams.                                                        
  • Leverage financial planning tools to identify opportunities, integrate banking solutions into holistic plans, and monitor progress toward client objectives.                                                        
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Trust Co., Compliance, Legal, Operations, Senior Portfolio Strategists) to ensure alignment and evolution of HNW strategies.                                                        
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives within Wealth Management Advice & Solutions (WMAS) to advance the firm’s HNW capabilities and future product development.                                                        
  • Shape client-facing guidance on complex banking strategies and provide input on new products and services to meet evolving client needs.

Position Requirements

What Experience You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related degree required
  • Series 7 and 66 required within 6 months of hire
  • Insurance license required 6 months of hire
  • CFP® preferred or obtained in accordance with firm policy
  • 8+ years Private Banking experience for HNW investors including securities-based lending, residential mortgage, commercial real estate, equipment financing (jets, yachts, etc.), life insurance premium financing, fine art financing, business banking.
  • 11+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Direct client service experience as a member of a HNW client-facing professional team required
  • Strong understanding of Financial Advisor and Branch Team processes, including implementation of Core Wealth, Banking, and Financial Planning offerings for HNW clients.
  • Ability to interpret and apply firm advice and guidance to create tailored banking and lending solutions that integrate seamlessly into holistic financial plans.
  • Deep expertise in the banking industry, including products, solutions, and strategies commonly used by HNW clients, and familiarity with their practical implementation.
  • Ability to analyze complex client documents—such as banking and investment statements, personal financial statements, shareholder agreements, business agreements, executive compensation plans, and partnership agreements—to identify planning opportunities and recommend strategies                                                        

What Could Set You Apart:
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Prior commercial lending experience preferred
 

Salary Information

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism.  Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing.
