Job Summary:
The Director of Franchise Development is responsible for qualifying and leading candidates through every phase of Ellie Mental Health’s franchise sales process—from initial contact to signed agreement. This is a high-accountability role requiring excellent communication, process management, and franchise compliance expertise. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for prospective franchisees reporting to the Vice-President of Franchise Development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage candidates’ interactions from initial call to Meet the Team Day, to Franchise Agreements Execution.
- Personally book, confirm, and conduct all sales calls following the Mutal Evaluation Process (MEP)- Including: Initial Call, Marketing and Operations, Unit Economics, Mapping, FDD Review, and Agreement Execution.
- Ensure all candidates interactions in CRM (currently HubSpot) are up to date, including pipeline stages and all call notes are accurate and updated immediately.
- Maintain momentum by scheduling next steps during live calls; minimize delays and drop-off.
- Reengage no-shows and reschedules through follow-up calls, texts, and CRM workflows.
- Manage pipeline of 20–40 active candidates across multiple stages with urgency and precision.
- Develop and maintain relationships with various broker groups.
- Respond to territory checks in a prompt manner and work with broker referrals upon receipt.
- Ensure adherence to all FTC and franchise registration state requirements throughout the process.
- Send and track FDDs; confirm receipt and compliance for all parties involved.
- Manage execution of franchise agreements by agreed timelines.
- Confirm candidate documentation (Franchise Application, bios, forms, statements) is complete and accurate before Meet the Team Day.
- Attend Broker Conferences or events as needed to represent and promote the brand.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Deep knowledge of the FDD process and franchise regulatory requirements
- Excellent time management and follow through abilities.
- Proven track record of managing full-cycle franchise sales and meeting performance targets
- High-level CRM proficiency (HubSpot preferred) with meticulous pipeline organization
- Excellent communicator, natural relationship builder, and confident closer
- Excellent presentation to serve as the brand’s front-line representative and educator throughout the sales journey.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently to maintain proactive communication via calls, texts, emails, and CRM automations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree or 3+ years of experience in Franchise Development
- CFE a plus but not a requirement
- 5+ years in franchise development or franchise brokerage
