Your role
In this role, you will play a key role in:
- Designing and developing functional automotive solutions through collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring proper design interfaces and requirement fulfillment
- Translating functional objectives into technical requirements and creating alternative design concepts with special focus on rear axle systems
- Leading and coordinating component development activities, including rear axle design and integration with vehicle systems
- Developing and maintaining critical engineering documentation including Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR)
- Creating and analyzing Computer Aided Design (CAD) models using industry-standard tools such as Catia/NX and implementing Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques
- Supporting benchmarking activities of competitive vehicles and implementing innovation roadmaps to advance new technologies
- Managing supplier relationships and coordinating design reviews to ensure program deliverables meet timing requirements
- Providing technical expertise for rear axle systems and related components throughout the product development lifecycle
- Supporting resolution of vehicle packaging, logbook, and manufacturing feasibility issues
- Leading root cause analysis for hardware issues and supporting through closure
Your profile
- Advanced English skills (C1, C2)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university
- Demonstrated experience with rear axle design, development, and integration in automotive applications
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanism design, moving components interfaces, and system integration
- Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, Catia) and Teamcenter
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and GD&T
- Knowledge of automotive design processes and component development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical information to various audiences including management
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred) and quality methods
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
