JOB OVERVIEW


The QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Leader is a specialized position in the company, responsible for reviewing all milestone drawing sets for compliance with all codes, technical concerns, building and construction standards, and good practice.


The QA/QC Leader must demonstrate construction expertise in all aspects of architecture / interiors projects including expert experience in assembling Design Documentation and CA project management.


The QA/QC Leader provides support as required to project teams daily both in the office and the field and helps organize ongoing training to improve the technical capability of all staff over time.


The QA/QC Leader will help lead the monthly Miami PM / QAQC Meeting to review the latest technical aspects of the profession related to code, drawing/document delivery, and internal processes. The QA/QC Leader is part of the CUBE 3 QA/QC Team that strives to ensure that all CUBE 3 offices consistently deliver high quality, coordinated documents to clients which incorporate their project specific criteria and budget requirements and meet the expectations of the company and clients.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Milestone Drawing Reviews of all projects.
  • Ongoing Staff Training for Design and Construction QA/QC including in-office Lessons Learned seminars and on-site CA Training.
  • Ensure that company documentation is efficient, constructible, and code compliant.
  • Maintains and Develops Office Standard Details Database in coordination with CUBE 3 QAQC Director and CUBE 3 BIM Manager.
  • Coordinates with BIM Manager and CIO to ensure the company is employing the latest information technology, programs, and production protocols to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
  • Navigate and limit CUBE3’s legal exposure wherever possible.
  • Work closely with QA/QC Director to ensure company-wide QA/QC is maintained.
  • Reviews Project Status Reports quarterly, performs drawing reviews prior to each deliverable in  project, and performs project audits as required during each phase of design.
  •  FL Registration preferred but not required. Architectural Stamping potential for FL-registered architects.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  •  A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as deemed acceptable by our firm’s liability insurance carrier, must be presented and maintained.
  • Maintain an active cell phone account for use for work related calls and emails. CUBE3 will need access to the employee during normal business hours, minimum, and in some cases, after hours and weekends.


Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in architecture and/or construction professions with strong technical, documentation, detailing and construction expertise.
  • Professional Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction from an accredited program.
  • Delivered at least five large ground-up buildings from Design through Construction Administration, including at least two high-rise residential projects of 20+ stories comparable to what CUBE 3 Miami designs and delivers.
  •  A comprehensive understanding of FL State and Municipal Building and Accessibility Codes.
  • LEED certification not required; but familiarity preferred.

SKILLS

  • A comprehensive understanding of construction techniques, standard and protocols.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and Bluebeam, which are the primary production and drawing mark-up tools, respectively. CAD familiarity a bonus, but not a requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and mentor younger staff to educate them on how buildings are designed and built.
  • Demonstrate professional skill, high standards, sound judgment, and professionalism.
