Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in job costing and manufacturing accounting and will play a key role in supporting month-end and year-end close processes as well as day-to-day accounting operations. This individual should be adaptable, proactive, and willing to take on a variety of tasks to support the department’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Perform job costing analysis, ensuring accuracy of costs related to materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and cycle count reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and production teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and reporting.
  • Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
  • Support the department with ad hoc projects and take on additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong job costing experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems required.
  • Excellent Excel skills are a must (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, and data analysis).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Backup Human resources as needed.


Requirements

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epicor ERP modules specific to manufacturing and job costing.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with process improvement, Lean manufacturing, or cost reduction initiatives.
