We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel Manager to lead the operations at the Wandering Buffalo, a unique boutique hotel that opened in August 2025 in downtown Bozeman. This hands-on leadership role offers the chance to oversee a vibrant, Yellowstone-inspired property with 38 keys, providing guests with an adventurous yet cozy experience.
As Hotel Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering exceptional guest service, managing daily hotel operations - including housekeeping, maintenance, and guest relations - and fostering a positive, community-focused environment. Job Summary:The Hotel Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of a limited-scope hotel, ensuring the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction. This hands-on role will be the primary point of contact for all hotel functions, directly responsible for Guest Service, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and ensuring all inventories are well-maintained and readily available to create exceptional guest experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training all hotel staff to meet business demands.
- Leads day-to-day operations and staffing of the hotel, guiding, coaching, and training employees to meet service standards.
- Provides timely feedback and performance evaluations, as well as coaching and disciplinary action as needed.
- Fosters a positive and productive work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages all hotel operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services, ensuring seamless coordination and efficiency.
- Ensures that all hotel inventories, including guest supplies, linens, and other essential items, are adequately stocked, well-maintained, and readily available to meet guest needs.
- Implements and maintains standards for cleanliness and maintenance throughout the hotel, ensuring that all areas meet or exceed expectations.
- Conducts regular inspections to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, ensuring all rooms are in operational order and free of out-of-order status.
- Manages guest relations, proactively addressing guest concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional service.
- Staffs the hotel to appropriate business levels to meet demand and ensure coverage during any staffing shortages.
- Achieve monthly Gross Operating Profit, ensuring the hotel meets financial goals.
- Maintains minimum acceptable standards for third-party OTA bookings (e.g., Expedia, Booking.com).
- Serves as the direct liaison with the regional sales team, engaging in revenue and sales meetings, and providing feedback to influence revenue strategies.
- Maintains a visible presence in public areas, actively engaging with guests and staff.
- Ensures timely resolution of maintenance issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of hotel management experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the shift
- Must be able to access and navigate the facility
- Must adhere to safety requirements and wear appropriate protective equipment
- May require physical exertion, including the ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Valid Driver’s License
