Business Development Manager

A career that makes a difference!

RKD Group is a leading direct response marketing and advertising agency dedicated to serving nonprofits. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, we are a remote-first company that has helped hundreds of nonprofits raise billions of dollars to drive meaningful impact.

The Business Development Manager will serve as a dedicated partner to RKD’s New Business Sales team. This position will help sellers focus their time on the highest-value prospects by supporting CRM upkeep, research, collateral, and outreach. The role will act as a bridge between Sales and Marketing, ensuring sellers have the right tools, insights, and materials to be effective in market, while also advancing outreach to lower-tier prospects that don’t warrant direct seller attention. In addition, the role will play a key part in proposal and pitch preparation on behalf of the sales team, collaborating with RKD’s proposal writing team and liaising across the organization to gather inputs. Ultimately, the position is designed to increase seller efficiency, improve prospect engagement, and create consistency in how RKD approaches new business development.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Maintain and manage CRM data to ensure accuracy in contacts, activities, and pipeline reporting
  • Conduct prospect research (company background, decision-makers, triggers for outreach) and prepare briefs for sellers
  • Create and refine prospecting materials, including follow-up notes, decks, and tailored outreach templates
  • Partner with Marketing to develop personalized touchpoints and “surprise and delight” opportunities for target accounts
  • Support contact management and list development within each end market
  • Track and share relevant end-market news, trends, and competitive intelligence with the sales team
  • Manage outreach to lower-tier prospects, ensuring consistent engagement without taking sellers’ focus away from high-value opportunities
  • Support proposal and pitch preparation, collaborating with the proposal writing team and coordinating inputs from across the organization
  • Provide general sales enablement support, including sales collateral organization, scheduling help for key campaigns, and ad-hoc requests from the sales team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a marketing, sales coordination, or business development support role, ideally within a professional service or B2B environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and proficiency with Microsoft 365; familiarity with demand-generation or intent data tools (e.g., 6Sense) is a plus.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Sales support mindset – demonstrated experience supporting sales teams by managing CRM data, coordinating outreach, and preparing materials that drive prospect engagement.
  • Organizational excellence – proven ability to keep multiple priorities moving simultaneously, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and research-driven – skilled at researching target organizations, identifying decision-makers, and uncovering insights that inform outreach strategies.
  • Communication and collaboration – strong written and verbal communicator with proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Creative problem solver – able to anticipate team needs, proactively remove roadblocks, and work under tight timelines.
  • Results-oriented – understand how to measure progress against business development goals and takes initiative to improve processes that enhance seller efficiency.

This position is offered remotely.

Pay range expected for the position: $70,000 to 75,000 annually.

The compensation and position level for this role will be determined based on the market location, experience, job skills, and qualifications of the candidate.

RKD Group offers highly competitive compensation commensurate with experience and a full range of benefits.
