Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all plant facilities, equipment, and grounds. This includes work on electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and other infrastructure. The role ensures plant reliability, safety, and efficiency while maintaining the overall appearance and operational readiness of the facility.
Essential Functions (Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:)
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems including circuits, motors, control panels, and lighting systems.
• Support installation and startup of new machinery and facility systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning, furnaces, and ventilation units.
• Maintain and repair plant plumbing, water, and compressed air systems.
• Perform drywall repair, painting, floor patching, and other tasks to maintain facility appearance.
• Conduct roof inspections and repairs according to established procedures.
• Record and document all maintenance work performed.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Collaborate with production and safety teams to minimize downtime and maintain a safe workplace.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
Education and Training:
• Technical diploma, certification, or equivalent training in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Formal apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training in electrical systems is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, comparable to those of an industrial electrician.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and automation equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including NFPA 70E and OSHA electrical standards.
• Proficient in use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and measurement instruments.
• General mechanical aptitude in plumbing, HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
