Position: Quality Engineer

 

Full Time Position                                                            Report To: Quality Manger

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Interfaces with customers regarding quality-related issues 
  • Analyze production/process data to determine areas for improvement (SPC and capability).  
  • Organize/prepare First Article documentation for submission (includes AS9102, PPAP, etc.)
  • Organize/prepare data packages to send with daily shipments
  • Works with production to develop plans for process corrections and continuous improvement.  
  • Conduct AS9100 internal audits
  • Participate in New Product development meetings
  • Works with purchasing to select new suppliers, monitor supplier performance, including issuing and managing the SCAR process when necessary
  • Be a resource for Quality Department personnel, concerning skill enhancement, upgrading, and promotion of a positive and open working culture
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience 
  • Three years of professional experience in the inspection and certification of a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of Quality standards and general requirements (ISO 9001:2015, AS9100)
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques (8D)
  • Knowledge of process continual improvement tools
  • Knowledge of Basic statistics
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite

 

Physical Demands:

While performing these duties, the employee is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, reach with hand, and arm, and talk or hear.  Employee may be required to lift to 50 lbs.

 

This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e., the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
