Position Overview:

The Loading Support Services (LSS) Supervisor is responsible for supervising all LSS staff providing oversight and leadership with respect to first level support and day-to-day operations.  The LSS Manager directly interfaces with various internal groups to ensure proper data maintenance of customer accounts at all clean product terminals across the Motiva geography.  This includes updating, developing, and maintaining the TABS Database and providing analytical assistance to LSS specialists with regards to driver loading issues.

The LSS team provides first level support (24 x 7, 365 days a year) for all clean products terminals. This includes monitoring various systems (such as TMS and TABS) and communications of data coming in and out to our Motiva distribution terminals and TABS sites.  This group also supports various internal customers as well (Fuels Sales and Marketing, Business Operations, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the LSS organization delivering best in class service in resolving loading issues related to OSP & Equity location related matters
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, and training contractors to become LSS agents and evaluate their performance while make decisions on full time employment.
  • Manages the 12-month probationary performance evaluation process by conducting timely check-ins at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, utilizing standardized performance review guides to assess progress and confirm employees meet required performance standards.
  • Serve as second level support in resolving loading issues/problems and determining involvement needed from other support groups
  • Provide advice, counsel, and guidance to LSS Specialists for all aspects of terminal operations, prioritizing problems and responding according to the business urgency
  • Educate, develop, and mentor members of a team throughout their employment life cycle.
  • Accountable for analyzing relevant LSS KPI /metrics and reporting
  • Owner of cross-functional processes for continuous improvement
  • Focal point for all special projects and delegation within the LSS team as necessary

Key Challenges

Maintaining professionalism while facing tense supply situations that you do not always have control over.

Leading a team during BCP events in which stress levels of all staff can be extreme.

Ability to effectively manage a team and give support through conflicting business interests/priorities while gaining support of stakeholders.

Role requires accessibility beyond normal business hours, 24x7. This will include weekends, holidays, and long hours when supply chain issues occur.

Multi-tasking and managing varying priorities.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum three (3) years or more experience in business/marketing/information technology/finance or related field required
  • Must have excellent analytical and computer skills and show functional knowledge with the following systems: SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Power Bi, SQL, Sales Force and Right Angle
  • Must be highly organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, both in a team and individual atmosphere
  • Position requires strong analytical skills and commercial understanding
  • Must be able to persuade stakeholders to act with statistics, trending data and proof of concept.
  • Must have strong presentation skills and ability to control an audience.
  • Ability to manage cross department teams without supervisory authority
  • Multi-tasking and managing varying priorities
  • Ability to deliver results through others
  • High level of organizational skills required

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of the Fueling (Commercial and/or Retail) business and Terminal setups
