Adjunct Faculty – Construction Management

Department: Construction Management
Location: Thomas Jefferson University – East Falls
Position Type: Part-Time / Adjunct

Position Overview

The College of Architecture and the Built Environment at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position in Construction Management. We seek dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-focused educators to teach undergraduate courses in construction management and related fields.

Adjunct faculty play a critical role in delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student success, and contributing to the continued growth of our construction management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in Construction Management (e.g., Construction Materials and Methods, Project Scheduling, Estimating, Construction Safety, or related topics).
  • Develop and deliver engaging course content aligned with departmental standards and learning outcomes.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, standards, and technologies.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Collaborate with department faculty and staff to ensure course consistency and quality.
  • Comply with institutional policies, including attendance, grading, and student communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Construction ManagementCivil EngineeringArchitecture, or a closely related field;
    OR a Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience in construction management or related industries.
  • Relevant professional experience in construction, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as PMPLEED AP, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
  • College-level teaching experience (in-person or online).
  • Experience with construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Revit, or MS Project).
  • Ability to integrate real-world industry examples into classroom instruction.
