Job Description
You will be the Senior Industrial Engineer (Capacity) for the Industrial Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for optimizing plant operations, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring maximum utilization of resources.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Industrial Engineer (Capacity) you will be responsible for analyzing capacity, assessing factory throughput, and optimizing production layouts to drive operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Utilizing discrete‑event simulation tools (e.g., Simio, FlexSim, ProSim, Arena) to evaluate current and future business needs.
- Developing and implementing facility layouts and workstation improvements.
- Supporting capital and proposal efforts through data analysis and capacity planning.
- Using metrics, data tools, and visualizations to identify cost, quality, and schedule drivers.
- Applying Lean Six Sigma tools and leading continuous‑improvement projects.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in Industrial Engineering and/or Capacity Planning, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Excel
- Experience working in a team-based environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.
Desired skills
- Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) for facility layout design and optimization
- Data Analytics/Tableau/SQL/Python experience
- Experience with SAP ERP system and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Experience applying Lean Six Sigma or implementing process improvements
