*Due to being an in-plant position, the below referenced job duties have been provided by the client:
The Environmental Specialist will assist in maintaining compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations and permit requirements. This position supports the Environmental Supervisor in ensuring all monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting obligations are met while helping to develop permit strategies that maximize operational flexibility and maintain regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with all refinery environmental matters.
· Keep detailed files and communicate effectively regarding environmental matters as it pertains to government agencies, refinery management and others as dictated by policy.
· Assist with compliance with Title V air permits and applicable State and Federal air regulations (BWON, GHG, TRI, J & Ja, QQQ, CEMS, etc.).
· Calculate and track emissions for programs such as the Annual Emission Inventory.
· Monitor new and changing environmental laws, regulations, and trends to ensure continued compliance.
· Assist in the coordination of training for operations and maintenance as required for environmental compliance.
· Observe refinery operations to confirm equipment performance meets air permit standards and initiate corrective actions as needed.
· Assist in maintaining all environmental procedures and manuals
Qualifications/Skills:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field preferred.
· Experience: 2 years of refinery or related experience preferred.
· Licenses: TWIC and valid driver’s license required (DISA compliant).
· Skills:
o Knowledge of refinery operations and environmental regulations (or willingness to learn).
o Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform duties requiring standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to wear safety harnesses and other protective equipment as needed.
Hours:
The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).

Summary of Description: The Technician will work under the supervision of an assigned specific discipline and based on experience the individual evaluates, selects, and applies standard applicable techniques. Could include discipline work of purchasing, expediting, NDT Inspection, project controls, surveying, laser scanning, schedulers, planner, construction inspectors, project coordinators, automation, controls, etc.
Duties:
- Assists assigned supervisor in various aspects of projects assigned.
- Applying standard discipline techniques to make minor adaptations and modifications.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with additional specialized training, or college course work, and at least six (6) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
License Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement
Specific Skills:
- Detailed working knowledge of Policies and Procedures related to project work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
- Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
- Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
- Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
- Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
