About the Role
Utex Industries is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Technician to join our team on-site in Weimar, TX. In this critical role, you will help drive a culture of safety by assisting in the development, implementation, and enforcement of health and safety programs across our facility. You’ll work closely with employees and management to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and promote a proactive approach to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections to identify hazards and risks.
Assist in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Provide engaging safety training on topics such as PPE, hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
Maintain detailed safety records including inspections, training logs, and incident reports.
Collaborate with teams to strengthen safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
Stay current on OSHA and other applicable safety standards.
Participate in safety meetings and committees as required.
Assist with the procurement, maintenance, and inspection of safety equipment and supplies.
Conduct and evaluate emergency response drills to ensure preparedness.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience in a safety or related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Working knowledge of state and federal HSE regulations and their operational impact.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour General Industry) preferred.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work performed in both office and manufacturing settings where safety hazards may be present.
Regular walking, standing, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform inspections and respond to emergencies as needed.
Regular, predictable attendance required.
