Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Generalist to support our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have strong recruitment capabilities, be proficient in HR systems, and possess a solid understanding of state and federal labor laws. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for a variety of roles, including specialized positions.
- Post job openings across multiple platforms and maintain up-to-date listings.
- Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
- HR Systems Management
- Utilize HRIS platforms (e.g., Paycom) for onboarding, offboarding, and employee record maintenance.
- Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with vendors or support teams as needed.
- Compliance & Labor Law
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain documentation and support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Employee Relations & Support
- Conduct orientations and onboarding sessions for new hires.
- Track timesheets and attendance records accurately.
- Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA and other applicable policies.
- Safety & Training
- Serve as a safety trainer for new and existing employees.
- Support compliance with safety protocols and PPE procedures.
- Inventory & Office Support
- Monitor and manage HR-related inventory, including PPE supplies.
- Issue PPE to employees and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure proper return and tracking of PPE during offboarding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in HR Generalist or similar role (minimum 21 years preferred).
- Strong recruitment background, including sourcing for specialized roles.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom) and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of federal and state labor laws.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with safety training, inventory control, and PPE management is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments is a plus.
Qualifications
Skills and Requirements
- HS Diploma or Equivalent.
- Be able to stand, bend and lift for extended periods of time.
- Be able to lift 50-70 lbs.
- Be able to work in a cold (40°F- negative -50°F) or wet environment.
- Advanced literacy (English) and math skills (use of calculator).
- Microsoft Experience (Excel, Power Point Word and Outlook).
Additional Notes
May be required to have additional training in HACCP, Lock Out Tag Out, Allergen and chemical usage.
