Qualifications

Holds a current and unrestricted RN license (preferred) or LPN license in the State of Illinois
Has current CPR certification or CPR Instructor’s certification
Knowledge of the nursing process and community health nursing
Knowledge of current trends in healthcare delivery and treatment
Knowledge of the medical, legal, and ethical aspects of nursing
Knowledge of age-appropriate anticipatory guidance, development of the psycho-social process, and health issues or concerns
Working knowledge of community, medical, and social services resources
Ability to assess student needs, formulate care plans, and evaluate plans of care
Ability to provide culturally competent care
Ability to monitor and record client-related outcomes and observations
Ability to understand and implement standing orders and administer therapeutic prescriptions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, students, and medical professionals
Ability to work within guidelines established by District policies and/or grants

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Educational Support Professionals, which is available on our website. The District gives experienced employees up to 20 years of experience credit for service outside the District if it is directly related to their position. 100% of an employee's contributions to IMRF are currently paid by the Board of Education. The Board also pays 100% of employee-only health and term life insurance. There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance. Dental is also available at competitive rates to interested employees. There are opportunities for employees to earn additional compensation during the regular school year and in the summer.

Important Notes

This position will be assigned to assist students in the Essential Skills classroom.
