The Vice President of Finance is an executive responsible for overseeing and directing financial operations for this NASDAQ listed public company. The Vice President of Finance reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) providing critical insights and recommendations to support timely financial reporting, execution of internal controls, informed decision-making and ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.
Essential Functions:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the monthly corporate consolidation to enable the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports. Partner with the Director of external financial reporting to support quarterly SEC filings and reporting.
- Work closely with the Director of FP&A to assist in the provision of comprehensive financial analysis, interpreting key financial data to senior leadership, and assist in operational and strategic decision making.
- Cash Management and Capital Allocation:
- Assist in the management of cash flow, liquidity, and working capital. Oversee daily treasury functions and controls
- Accounting Operations
- The Corporate Controller is a direct report into the Vice President of Finance. Oversee the optimization of full cycle accounting activities, including project based revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and benefits and general ledger.
- Ensure internal accounting policies and controls are in compliance with USGAAP and SEC accounting standards
- Risk Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard the organization's financial assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and internal financial policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge of company structure (mission, goals, and objectives), and policies and procedures.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; a CPA and/or MBA is required.
- Proven experience as a Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance, or in a similar executive-level financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a history of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
