OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support our client, a large Non-Profit based in Manhattan, NY. The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining multi-site Servers (Windows, Linux, VMWare, Azure Cloud environment).
This position is paying between $85,000-$105,000 annually. Pay will be based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Windows Server/Active Directory administration
• Security and antivirus protection administration
• Server and network backup configuration and management,
• Exchange and Directory File Services management and administration
• Mobile device configuration and management. VPN and mobile management tools.
• Participation in infrastructure and network projects including setup, configuration and support of new technology.
• Proposing and implementing hardware, security, software options to improve infrastructure.
• Participation in security audits, intrusion testing activities. Remediation of any findings
• Disaster preparedness
• Maintain current hardware and software patch and release levels for servers and associated applications.
• Create, maintain and manage Power Shell scripts. Document scripts and record changes.
• Administration of logs, mailboxes, accounts, mail groups, personal and Share folders
• Troubleshoot and resolve Exchange or DFS related issues. Resolve mailbox issues if required.
• Troubleshoot and Monitor backup and replication process
• Ensure proper Security access procedures are implemented and maintained
• Schedule, monitor and report on all network server backup jobs. Adjust backup schedules to guarantee data availability and system performance.
• Perform system and data restores to support business requirements.
• Implement and maintain data archiving processes and procedures.
• Perform maintenance on backup jobs, including all file and email servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backup issues.
• Verify completion of scheduled backup jobs on a daily basis
• Provide maintenance and support of physical and virtual servers, including monitoring, verifying available server resources, patching or updating software and hardware.
• Perform day-to-day administration of Active Directory, including creating, disabling, or removing AD user accounts.
• Manage the Group Policy policies, implementation and file permission assignments.
• Maintain and extend ADFS services as required
• Review system audit logs and alerts as required. (Solar Winds)
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 -7 years in a Windows System administration role or equivalent.
• 3+ years MS-Exchange and Directory File Services administration
• Experience and knowledge - MS SQL Server Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Group Policy, PowerShell, Proof Point, Faddom
• Virtualization implementation and administration – VMware, VSphere, ESXi hosts
• Excellent Storage knowledge and experience – HP3PAR, NetApp
• System Backup/Restore - Veeam,
• Excellent knowledge of Network and hardware technologies - switches, routers, firewalls - CISCO
• Very strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to express technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work well independently and with people of varying degrees of technical expertise.
• Solid communication and negotiation skills with 3rd party vendors, IT staff and business areas
• Ability to travel between sites in the 5 boroughs as needed.
• Desire to grow and capability to learn.
• BS/BA Computer Science or equivalent
• MCSE, CCNA, VCP a plus
