Job Description: As the Director of Tax at Terrible's, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our tax strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's tax compliance and reporting, while also providing strategic guidance to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the financial success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure the company's compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while maintaining compliance with tax laws.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze the financial implications of various tax strategies and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, including corporate income tax returns, sales tax filings, and other required tax documents.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and work closely with external auditors and tax authorities to ensure compliance.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's financial interests.
  • Tax Research: Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and apply this knowledge to develop and update tax strategies accordingly.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing tax department, providing mentorship and guidance to tax professionals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a commitment to accuracy.

Travel Requirements:

Reliable transportation is required.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals, as well as to communicate effectively.

Reasoning Abilities:

The ability to apply logical thinking to execute instructions and resolve problems is crucial.

Certificates, Licensing and Regulations:

Applicants must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Physical Demands:

The role requires regular standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. The incumbent must also be able to perform duties in varying work conditions, such as confined spaces.

Work Environment:
