The Centrios brand is focused on radically simplifying access management for small business and light commercial customers in North America.

Exciting challenges of the role:

The Senior Product Manager – Small Business Software, Hardware, & Integrations will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of initiatives that connect hardware devices, embedded firmware, and cloud software into a seamless small business focused access management ecosystem. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, product leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable, supportable and high performing solutions that deliver value for the customer and company.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing the intersection of software, hardware, firmware, and cloud software and will drive product roadmap execution to support both current and emerging product lines. This candidate will be required to prioritize competing objectives in a complex and shared resource environment.

Key areas you will contribute to the role include:

Roadmap Development, Product Ownership & Backlog Management:

  • Identify customer needs and pain points through direct customer interaction and by analyzing market and system analytic trends to inform priorities.
  • Develop and execute a long-term vision (generation planning) for the product that drives incremental customer and brand value
  • Define product and customer experience requirements across IoT devices, firmware, and cloud software.
  • Prioritize features and technical debt in alignment with product strategy and customer value.
  • Drive the end-to-end IoT product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to commercial launch and ongoing improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and UX to ensure on-time delivery of roadmap initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase velocity with cross-functional teams and speed-to-commercialization.

UI/UX Integration:

  • Partner with UI/UX and front-end engineering teams to define intuitive user workflows and device interaction models.
  • Review wireframes and application interfaces to ensure seamless IoT device-to-cloud experiences.

Quality, Testing, & Release Management:

  • Oversee product readiness by reviewing builds and participating in engineering reviews.
  • Partner with software and firmware teams to manage prioritization of bugs in the triage process, and drive root-cause resolution in partnership with software and firmware teams.

Critical Issue & Incident Management:

  • In collaboration with the Technical Support team, participate in cross-functional rapid responses to high-severity issues impacting device connectivity, data integrity, or user experience.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:

  • Provide monthly updates on platform roadmap, program health, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical topics in business-friendly language to business stakeholders and customers.

Platform & Product Innovation:

  • Collaborate with inter-company leaders to identify new product and integration opportunities.
  • Identify new opportunities for product growth — such as new IoT integrations, partnerships, data-driven features, or cross-product capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to advance platform capabilities.

What we are looking for:

  • Exceptional communication, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling IoT platforms for residential, commercial or enterprise customers
  • Strong understanding of IoT architecture — device connectivity, edge computing, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity, and device provisioning processes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native software deployment.
  • Understanding of data security, OTA (over-the-air) firmware updates, and telemetry analytics.
  • Must reside in or near one of the following cities: New Haven, CT, Berlin, CT, Charlotte, NC, Portland, OR
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%) and meet the requirements of customers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education and/or experience:

  • Your background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’s experience in product or platform management. At least 3 years’ experience in IoT product ecosystems preferred.
  • Experience in the residential or commercial access control industry is a must.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, and software) in complex product development environments.
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha, Azure DevOps) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT platforms is preferred.
