Job Title: Loan Manager
Reports to: Market President

Job Summary:
The Loan Manager will be accountable for supervising and providing guidance to lenders in the market location and will actively promote all bank products and services to fulfill customers' needs. The Loan Manager is responsible for growth of a loan portfolio with strong asset quality by using sound underwriting practices and conforming to bank policy and regulatory guidelines. This position will maintain a strong presence in the community through volunteer activities.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Exhibit a sense of urgency to provide the finest of customer service at all times and in all forms of verbal and written communications.
- Maintain a loan portfolio.
- Make timely and sound loan decisions.
- Be proficient in all aspects of loan underwriting and documentation.
- Actively generate business while maintaining strong asset quality.
- Work past dues and keep charge-offs at a minimal level.
- Work technical exceptions.
- Underwrite loans in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Serve on and present requests to County, Executive, and Directors’ Loan Committees as needed.
- Supervise other Lenders in the market location.
- Train and develop Lenders and Loan Coordinators and work with them through all aspects of the loan process (generation, closing, and maintenance).
- Conduct regular Past Due/TE meetings.
- Actively promote and cross-sell all bank products and services; refer to proper product specialists to fulfill customer’s banking needs.
- Be active in the community by participating in civic clubs and being involved in community events.
- Perform all other tasks requested as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Loan Officers and Loan Coordinators.
Compliance:
All Team Members are accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations and adherence to established internal controls and procedures when performing their job duties. Each Team Member is expected to be familiar with the legal and regulatory requirements and internal controls affecting his or her job responsibilities. It is the affirmative duty of each Team Member to carry out these responsibilities at all times in a manner that complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and internal controls. All Team Members shall be responsible for communicating upward, problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions. Team Members must participate in required training on pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by Signature Bank of Arkansas.
All Team Members will be committed to maintaining a high level of compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering, USA PATRIOT Act and Financial Recordkeeping regulations recognizing that all three acts are important tools in federal efforts to combat organized crime, terrorism and drug trafficking
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
- College degree or equivalent experience required; further education/training from Banking schools preferred (bank management and overall bank operations)
- 10 years of banking experience required; 6 years of related management experience also required.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally in English (both written and oral) before groups of customers, team members, and management of the Bank.
- Excellent leadership skills and supervisory abilities.
- Strong listening, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively relate to all levels of the Bank staff.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, managers, customers, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to understand/analyze performance and production data to identify improvement opportunities; manage complex projects that impact operations effectively and within time and budget; ensure policies, procedures, risk parameters and guidelines of the bank are met.
- Sound reasoning and judgment skills with the ability to solve problems and make proper decisions.
- Strong computer skills and ability to utilize all necessary software applications including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and work with a sense of urgency.
