Job Description

Are you ready to be part of a team that values safety, continuous improvement, quality, and employee well-being? CHEP is looking for a motivated Shift Lead to join our team in Windsor, CT !

As a Shift Lead, will be responsible for serving as a functional subject matter expert and peer leader to assigned area on the production floor. The Shift Lead I should display functional knowledge of forklift operations, pallet repair, or sort operations. This employee supports Operations Supervisor (s) in ensuring teams deliver superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality, and cost. Specific responsibilities include assists with directing the work of forklift, sort, and designated repair table (s).

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Lead by example within the assigned functional area, offering guidance and support to peers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth production operations.
• Actively support production activities, stepping in during shifts or breaks to maintain workflow and operational continuity.
• Collaborate with plant administration to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, promoting consistency and operational compliance.
• Assist Plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure operational efficiency.
• Act as the subject matter expert for specialized areas, such as forklift operations, pallet sorting, or repair lines, providing expertise and ensuring best practices are followed.
• Fulfill assigned production duties, ensuring quality and efficiency in line with plant performance goals.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a plant leadership role in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated internally and/or externally the ability to lead

Strong customer service skills

The ability to build consensus amongst a team.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally.

Ability to drive safety and create a safety conscious work environment

Ability to position pallets and various items weighing up to 78 lbs occasionally, less than 33% of the work shift.
