GENERAL DESCRIPTION (PURPOSE)

The Hospitality Manager plays a vital role in helping NPHX Church fulfill its mission to reach and equip people with the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Valley and around the world.

This position provides leadership for all areas of Hospitality Ministry, ensuring that every person who steps onto campus feels seen, known, valued, welcomed, and connected. The Hospitality Director oversees the entire guest experience on Sundays and ministry gatherings, leading volunteer teams that serve in the Parking Lot, New Here Start Here, Ushers, Greeters, Refreshments, and the Next Steps Center.
 

In all responsibilities, this person will model the heart of servant leadership, excellence, and care that reflects the mission and values of NPHX Church.
 

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS

· A committed follower of Jesus Christ whose life reflects the mission and values of NPHX Church.

· Must become a member of NPHX Church.

· 2–4 years of experience in hospitality, guest services, or volunteer leadership within a ministry or organizational setting.

· Experience recruiting and developing volunteer teams with care and purpose.

· Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead teams effectively.

· Highly relational — able to connect with a diverse range of people and lead with empathy and clarity.

· Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or Planning Center preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Professional, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.

· Able to manage conflict and problem-solve with grace and wisdom.

· Self-motivated and committed to excellence in ministry and teamwork.



SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hospitality Ministry (60%)

· Create and sustain a culture where every person feels seen, known, valued, welcomed, and connected from the parking lot to the worship center.

· Oversee all aspects of the Sunday guest experience, including Parking, Greeters, Ushers, Refreshments, Setup/Tear Down, and the Next Steps Room.

· Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd volunteers in all hospitality serving areas.

· Ensure hospitality spaces (tents, signage, flags, welcome areas, refreshment stations) are clean, inviting, and ready each weekend.

· Lead volunteers to provide intentional greetings and farewells that help people feel they belong.

· Establish and maintain consistent standards, systems, and procedures across all hospitality areas.

· Collaborate with Facilities and Communications to maintain environments that align with the church’s mission and ministry focus.

· Partner with the Connections Pastor to ensure a seamless guest experience that supports connection pathways such as Starting Point, Membership, Baptism, and Serving.

· Follow up with first-time guests through calls, texts, emails, and in-person connections to foster engagement and belonging.

Volunteer Development (20%)

· Recruit, onboard, and develop new volunteers consistent with the mission, values, and culture of NPHX Church.

· Provide ongoing leadership, care, and discipleship for hospitality teams.

· Equip volunteers and team leaders with the tools, training, and encouragement needed to serve effectively and confidently.

· Develop leadership pipelines and create opportunities for spiritual and personal growth.

· Cultivate a culture of appreciation, accountability, and belonging within volunteer teams to ensure strong retention and engagement.

Administration & Collaboration (20%)

· Maintain accurate rosters, schedules, and communication through Planning Center and other systems.

· Track volunteer engagement, guest follow-up, and hospitality metrics.

· Assist in preparing and managing the annual hospitality ministry budget and goals.

· Participate in weekly staff meetings, trainings, and church-wide gatherings.
