Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse Manager

 

Base office location may vary dependent upon suitable candidate

 

£49,641 - £52,254 per year

 

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm

 

We are seeking a Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse Manager to join our team. The role sits within housing services who are responsible for managing homes across England, providing general rented housing, shared ownership and home ownership accommodation. It also provides housing related services including lettings, debt management, tenancy management and customer services support.

 

As Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse Manager you will lead and coordinate effective safeguarding activities across Housing functions, ensuring robust reporting, learning and continuous improvement. Aswell as providing oversight of safeguarding compliance and the integration of domestic abuse responses into safeguarding practice.

 

The role of Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse Manager will include:

  • Contributing to and supporting the delivery of safeguarding strategy and operations across Housing functions, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements                                                     
  • Reviewing safeguarding cases providing expert advice and guidance on safeguarding and domestic abuse matters to colleagues at all levels                                              
  • Embedding domestic abuse awareness, response protocols and support pathways into safeguarding frameworks and frontline practice                                            
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation, internal policies and external standards                                                  
  • Supporting, developing and working closely with Safeguarding Champions across the organisation, delivering and coordinating staff briefings and training to drive best practice and local engagement
  • Facilitating learning from safeguarding incidents, audits and reviews ensuring training provision is appropriate and up to date and lessons are shared and embedded across Housing England
  • Building and maintaining effective partnerships with external agencies and domestic abuse support organisations to promote a culture of safety, accountability and proactive engagement. Ensure gaps and challenges in current practice are identified and recommendations are made to update and refine Sanctuary's policies.                                                    
  • Leading on safeguarding data analysis and reporting, identifying any immediate risks or trends and areas for improvement sharing insight with senior management and stakeholders                                                   

 

Skills and Experiences:

  • Degree, mental health, nursing or social work qualification or relevant professional qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social care safeguarding good practice principles and current statutory legislation
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Proven experience of inspection regimes and performance management
  • Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
