Job Summary
Will support daily laboratory operations, manage inventory and procurement, assist with lab maintenance, and provide exceptional service to research staff. Strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in Microsoft applications are crucial to success in this role. Experience in coordinating and collaborating with multiple parties will be essential. Distributes and collects incoming packages. Processes outgoing packages. Able to multi-task between various shipping and receiving duties. Receives and documents packages, pickup and deliver to goods across campus buildings. Essential Functions:
Supports Facilities/Lab cross functional tasks
Receive, sort, and deliver all incoming and outgoing packages
Continuously improves customer experience (internal and external) by identifying ways to improve and streamline processes and procedures.
Supports departmental goals required for ops team tracking/accountability.
Follow lithium battery shipping requirements issued by IATA and Dept of Transportation Dangerous goods regulations.
Provide excellent Customer Service by telecom, email and interpersonal. Provide mentorship to customers on all shipping related inquiries and questions.
Process shipments in system and manually as the need arises.
Post all outbound mail for delivery to the Post Office or for overnight delivery agencies
Gathers and reports on S&R metrics such as inbound and outbound packages
Receives and distributes UPS, FedEx, assorted courier packages
Maintain good working relationships with couriers and vendors on site
Coordinate shipping and receiving functions at the facility.
Manage dock organization and shipping supplies.
Operate electric carts, forklifts, pallet jacks
Ensuring relevant labware, consumables, supplies, and areas are properly stocked, cleaned, sterilized and/or maintained through use of appropriate equipment and processes
Performing hazardous waste consolidation routines via specified processes as needed
Supporting lab equipment maintenance routines as directed.
Assisting with the ordering and stock integrity of lab supplies through inventory management, procurement, and receiving processes and systems
Interacting with research staff and supporting in-scope service requests as directed
Understanding operational laboratory workflows and successfully balancing routines tasks and ad-hoc work
Performing work process documentation, metrics tracking, and communication routines
Additional support-level tasks as necessary
Adherence to company and customer COVID-19 safety guidelines
Ensure labware, consumables, supplies, and work areas are properly stocked, cleaned, sterilized, and maintained using appropriate equipment and processes.
Perform hazardous waste consolidation routines following specified processes.
Support lab equipment maintenance routines as directed.
Assist with corrective and preventative maintenance work orders as required.
Manage lab supplies inventory, including ordering, procurement, and receiving processes.
Prepare, receive, and ship packages while reconciling packing slips and ensuring proper handling of temperature-sensitive items.
Provide support to research staff and assist with service requests as directed.
Understand and balance operational laboratory workflows, including routine tasks and ad-hoc work.
Document work processes, track metrics, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Perform additional support-level tasks as necessary.
Remain flexible in response to schedule changes with reasonable notice.
Provide backup support for multiple client sites as needed.
Assist in training new staff and implementing procedures for new client sites.
Conduct safety checks, including inspecting safety showers, eye wash stations, and fire extinguishers.
Monitor and manage alarms, responding as required.
Escort vendors and contractors on-site as necessary.
Maintain and clean decontamination equipment.
What We Need to See:
Experience in international and domestic transportation/logistics field, including working with import/export documentation and regulations.
Must work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted requirements
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, and performs multiple tasks at the same time
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in MS Office tools such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience working with couriers/carrier’s booking system and their customer service (FedEx, DHL, UPS and Forwarders).
Knowledge of International Transportation and Trade regulations.
Ability to work off hours occasionally.
Excellent attendance and willing to learn demeanor.
Must be an excellent teammate and support team members as needed with open communication.
Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
