THE ROLE:
Working with our Digital Technology Services (DTS) team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May through August 2026. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Assist the Information Systems (IS) team to develop customer focused technology solutions
- Provide application assistance to our user community
- Responding to assigned trouble tickets
- Communicating with business users on progress/status of assigned tickets
- Collaborate with the IS team in the implementation of various technology initiatives
- Assist users with access to data from various systems and providing backend support for building business intelligence reports and visualizations
- Assist with process development, process modelling, and documentation
- Help maintain Software Inventory and System Architecture Diagrams, provide coverage with System Administration duties, including user setups, password resets, and master record administration
- Maintain and cleanup software repositories and maintain development wikis
- Assist with redevelopment of several integrations between SAP and 3rd party systems
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a post-secondary institution in Canada, and must be returning to undergraduate studies after the work term
- Enrolled in Bachelor of Computer Science, Commerce (with Information Systems focus), Software Engineering or other similar post-secondary program is preferred
- Proficient with SQL and procedural programming in relational databases
- Exposure to oil & gas industry software applications, including SAP, ArcGIS, Metrix, and CS Explorer is considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Python, REST APIs, and use of Markdown for documentation
- Enjoys working in a team environment
- Great problem solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot/isolate software issues
- Self-motivated and with ability to show strong initiative while working on tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
