This position, International Admissions Advisor I (Level 1), is responsible for undergraduate international student admissions assistance and advising and typically reports to an Assistant or Associate Director but may also report to an Admissions Recruiter or an Admissions Team Administrator. An International Admissions Advisor Level 1 communicates admissions information to prospective students, newly admitted students, re-admitted students, their parents and families, school personnel, and the public. The Level 1 Advisor provides advice and counsel regarding admissions policies and procedures including application due dates and scholarship deadlines, admissions criteria, the status of applications, admissions decisions, required documentation, and other essential admissions information. The Level 1 Advisor may also counsel students denied admission to USF on alternative collegiate plans. This employee is not required to represent the university at high schools, community colleges, or other venues outside of USF.
Responsibilities
Evaluates information pertaining to international students' recruitment, application processing, and admissions status using multiple university systems (e.g., Banner, OASIS, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and web reporting systems) according to university admissions policies and procedures. Creates reports that are student-specific that identify outstanding credentials and materials needed for application completion. Communicates through a variety of modalities with applicants to ensure application completion with follow-up as necessary.
Advises prospective students, newly admitted students, re-admitted students, their parents and families, and the public regarding USF admissions policies and procedures including application due dates and scholarship deadlines, admissions criteria, how applications are processed, the status of applications, admissions decisions, required documentation, and other essential admissions information. Advising may occur in person, over the telephone, via email/CRM.
Manages correspondence with applicants regarding admission and scholarship offers to be admitted students. May counsel applicants who do not meet admissions criteria about alternative options for a college education.
Participates in the planning and implementation of welcome sessions and events for prospective international students, families, and agents including during arrival and orientation periods. Provides admissions advising services for "walk-in" students and families.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience in a customer service employment capacity.
