Job Purpose or Objective(s):Responsible for delivering strategic objectives as well as continuous improvement initiatives with the administration and execution of strategic plans to support the tribe in achieving organizational goals. 

Location: Durant

Schedule: Regular/Full-Time - 8:00am-4:30pm

Wage access is an option for this position.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Partner with leadership and project stakeholders to oversee the planning, management, execution and tracking of strategic objectives and develop comprehensive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the goals of the Choctaw Nation. 
  2. Manage multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate excellent project management skills by prioritizing tasks, creating, and managing timelines, and consistently delivering results.
  3. Ensure project quality, assist in developing recommendations, review deliverables, and ensure successful implementation; Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools, quality assurance practices, and other methodologies to drive process improvements, optimize operational efficiencies, and ensure consistent quality standards are met throughout the organization.
  4. Provide support in planning and execution of the organization’s growth initiatives; Participate in evaluation of organizational priorities; gain understanding of the organization’s strategic goals to support project selection.
  5. Assess organizational performance and determine root cause(s) of complex issues. Proactively identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent achieving goals and objectives. 
  6. Develop detailed action plans to ensure successful implementation of strategic objectives and continuous improvement initiatives; Revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  7. Identify, review, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement projects and strategies to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within scope. 
  8. Maintain strong relationships with leadership and project stakeholders to drive support, buy-in, trust, and transparency; encourage engagement and participation in strategic and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  9. Facilitate and guide cross-functional teams to analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, and create performance measures to deliver strategic and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business organizational management or related field and five [5] years of experience in a business environment solving complex operational problems, OR nine [9] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / LEAN certification, or ability to acquire in first 90 days.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Windows 
  • Able to lead and execute complex strategic and continuous improvement projects. Strong project management skills.
  • Able to identify waste and develop specific proposals/execution plans for strategic and continuous improvement projects.
  • Leadership, facilitation, and communication skills; ability to influence others and promote collaboration among team members. 
  • Understand P&L statement and how his/her actions impact and improve.
  • Strong analytic skills. Quickly understands business issues and challenges facing the company.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Identify and assess market trends, competitive landscape, and industry best practices to inform strategic decisions.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and research to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic plans, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into strategic planning.
  • Mentor and develop junior strategists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic planning and implementation, with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, driving results and fostering collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience in conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in using strategic planning tools and techniques, such as SWOT analysis and scenario planning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changing business landscapes and organizational needs.
