The Underwriting Assistant supports the Ease of Business Team by facilitating efficient and accurate processing of underwriting requests. This role assists with submission review, documentation management, and communication between underwriting, agents, and internal teams to ensure a seamless workflow and excellent service experience. The position also contributes to process improvement, workflow optimization, and team training efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and organize new business and renewal submissions for accuracy and completeness.

  • Evaluate submission information to identify missing data or inconsistencies and proactively follow up with agents or internal teams.

  • Enter and maintain policy and quote information in internal systems with a high level of accuracy.

  • Assist underwriters in assessing risk and preparing quotes, proposals, and policy documents.

  • Monitor submission pipelines to ensure timely turnaround and adherence to service-level standards.

  • Serve as a point of contact for agents and partners, providing clear communication and resolution support.

  • Contribute to developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and ease of doing business.

  • Participate in team training, system testing, and documentation of standard operating procedures.

  • Prepare and analyze reports to identify trends, workflow gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • 2+ years of experience in underwriting support, insurance operations, or related field preferred.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with policy administration systems a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
