The Maintenance Technician collaborates with supervisors and other staff to maintain a secure, safe and healthy environment throughout the agency to meet all health and licensing regulations. Primary job duties include, but are not limited to, the overall maintenance, repair, security and upkeep of all buildings and grounds including--HVAC, construction, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical repairs, building construction, remodeling, upgrades and repairs, snow removal, grounds maintenance, trash removal, recycling and preventative maintenance.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for building security to include locking and unlocking doors at specified times.
- Responsible for the pickup and delivery of agency materials, including donated items, food items, supplies, and equipment.
- Responsible for routine, preventive and emergency maintenance of all buildings, to include identification of problem areas and working with supervisor to resolve.
- Works with other facilities department staff in the preparation and cleanup of meeting rooms or other special functions and events.
- Performs assigned routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance duties, to include changing light bulbs and filters, refilling product dispensers, and painting as needed.
- Assists in all renovation/re-modeling projects.
- Assists with grounds maintenance, to include snow removal, sweeping sidewalks, trash pick-up, recycling, sprinkler maintenance, grass cutting, and raking leaves.
- Carries a cell phone and responds to after-hours/weekend emergencies when needed
- Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Has at least 5 years’ experience in a lead/independent projects position in a maintenance department.
- Possesses established skills in HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and/or any other skilled maintenance trade.
- Has the ability to diagnose a situation and needed repairs and determine appropriate cost-effective measures to correct.
- Possesses basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- All candidates must have or qualify to obtain a current Colorado driver’s license (Must obtain license within 30 days of employment)
- All positions require criminal CBI background check, FBI fingerprint check, State of CO child abuse check, DMV driving record check, pre-employment drug test, pre-employment physical, academic credential verification, and reference checks
