We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Certified Athletic Trainer to join our clinic team in Columbus, IN. This role provides both administrative and clinical support, while leveraging athletic training expertise to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and assist the provider during exams and in-office procedures.
- Measure, collect, and record patient vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
- Perform patient intake, review medical history, and document information in the electronic medical record.
- Fit and dispense DME (braces, supports, splints, etc.), ensuring proper use and patient education.
- Conduct functional and musculoskeletal screenings under provider supervision to support treatment planning.
- Educate patients on movement, ergonomics, and injury prevention strategies that align with pain management goals.
- Maintain and track DME inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and billing readiness.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, clean and disinfect equipment, and restock supplies.
- Monitor patient recovery progress and communicate observations to the provider.
- Support patient follow-up by reinforcing care plans and monitoring adherence to treatment recommendations.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and CPIhealth confidentiality standards.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical, orthopedic, or rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Experience with EMR (NextGen/ECW) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, DME fitting, and patient care protocols.
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record platforms.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based clinical environment.
- Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Licenses & Certifications
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Indiana.
