General Ledger Accountant
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers and helping guide business decisions? Quarto is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our team. In this role, you’ll handle a variety of corporate accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, audit support, and monthly reporting. Your work will be key to ensuring accurate financial records and providing insights that help drive strategic decisions. Key Results Areas
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring completeness and accuracy of general ledger activity.
- Reconcile asset and liability accounts monthly, with complete supporting schedules and documentation.
- Record payroll and benefit transactions provided by Human Resources into the general ledger.
- Manage and reconcile prepaid expenses, including monthly amortization and tracking schedules.
- Prepare and distribute management reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity for internal stakeholders.
- Perform variance and expense analysis; investigate and explain material fluctuations.
- Prepare audit schedules that reconcile to the trial balance and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by the Accounting Manager or Controller.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Provide backup support for inventory and cost accounting functions as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum 5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting is a strong plus.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced level).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices across general ledger, A/R, A/P, billing, and inventory accounting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to meet deadlines, including flexibility to work extended hours during month-end close.
