We're looking for a Staff Accountant who own performing general ledger account reconciliations, preparing and recording journal entries, maintaining financial schedules, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and supporting departmental reporting and compliance activities. This role supports both corporate and location-level accounting and works closely with Senior Accounting Leadership to ensure financial accuracy and consistency across the organization.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist Accounting Leadership in ensuring that all accounts are current and accurate.
- Compile information and prepare financial, statistical, and operational reports as requested.
- Participate in the month-end closing process, including reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing variances, and recording vendor and intercompany statements prior to close.
- Prepare and post daily, monthly, and annual journal entries, recurring accruals, and general ledger schedules.
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts and ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained.
- Focus on Parts/Service Accounting and Truck Sales Accounting.
- Assist in the completion of the annual review/audit by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Cross-train in Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions to provide backup coverage and enhance process consistency.
- Assist in performing year-end physical inventories and related reconciliations.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improved efficiency, automation, and reporting accuracy.
- Provide other accounting and administrative support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in general accounting; dealership or multi-entity experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) required.
- Experience with ERP or dealership management systems (e.g., Procede/Excede, CDK, or similar) preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compensation: $60,000-$70,000. Salary will be determined based on experience, competencies, certifications and education.
