Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for analyzing and monitoring the credit worthiness of the bank’s customers. Analyzes financial statements, tax returns and bank references to evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with the bank. Recommends credit approvals within the established bank guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Obtains loan request information from lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
  2. Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns.
  3. Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.
  4. Requests and obtains financial statements on existing borrowers. Ongoing monitoring of existing client financial performance, covenant compliance and borrowing base compliance.
  5. Reviews and prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions.
  6. Prepares or assists in the preparation of credit approval presentation for lenders and/or loan committees.
  7. Reviews loan files to ensure the completeness of the file and that all collateral has been secured properly.
  8. Assists lenders with calls on past-due loans as assigned by senior management with the bank’s loan portfolio.
  9. Updates collateral values, as needed on delinquent loans.
  10. Follows all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Excellent financial analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Strong customer-service skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of personal/business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years bank credit experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance
