Your main responsibilities
- Directs and assists all team members with day to day activities and coordinates with his or her immediate manager.
- Ensures all distribution center requirements are met.
- Resolves any maintenance or tooling issues that arise.
- Requisitions materials, supplies, equipment, parts, or service as needed.
- Will maintain operational data and KPIs such as time, efficiency, and productivity.
- Will demonstrate equipment operation and work procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced individuals for training.
- Will train and certify all new material handlers and PIV operators.
- Monitors work area for safety infractions and regulations compliance.
- Will maintain all training records, continuous improvement and staffing records.
- Inventory accuracy compliance through the implementation and auditing of all storage locations; reconciliation of errors, offsite storage management and picker audits.
- Will coordinate and manage all traffic issues.
- Work closely with Materials Manager to implement and / or refine continuous improvement measures to improve warehouse / materials methods, continuous improvement and productivity.
- Leads all Continuous Improvement projects in the warehouse and participates in all CI initiatives that the Materials group impacts
- Must be proficient in all warehousing, inventory, and materials management processes.
- Will assist and conduct training for employees
- Will make recommendations to all levels of management and work closely with Human Resources in the disciplinary and evaluation of teammates as needed.
- Will help maintain time and attendance records.
- Must be willing to work alternate shifts as needed.
- Will perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
What you bring
High School degree or equivalent and a minimum of five years proven successful leadership experience. Must be willing to work alternate shifts as needed. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in ERP usage; excel, and Microsoft Office programs. Experience in ADP, auditing pick validation, lean techniques, prior shipping and receiving leadership is highly preferred. The successful candidate will be required to attend Train the Trainer PIT training.
