Position Summary
The Senior Systems Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of E-Gaming IT infrastructure. This position leads monitoring, maintenance, and optimization efforts across network and server environments, provides Tier 3 support, and contributes to strategic IT initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Response
· Monitor network, server, and storage systems for performance, availability, and security.
· Respond to escalated alerts and incidents; perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
· Maintain system integrity through proactive monitoring and patching.
Infrastructure Maintenance
- Conduct software upgrades, hardware replacements, and lifecycle management.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and restore procedures.
- ·Ensure compliance with security protocols and implement mitigation strategies.
- Image Creation, Management, and Maintenance
- Configure a reference computer with the desired OS, software, drivers, settings, and customizations, then capture into a single image file.
- Upload images to an image repository or a network share, making them accessible for deployment to multiple computers, clean up and maintain image versions in the repository.
- Create automated deployment USBs, that can be distributed to different departments needing to load images.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and guide Systems team members and junior staff.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and network diagrams.
- Lead or support IT infrastructure projects and process improvements.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
- Participate in planning and execution of internal IT initiatives.
Requirements
Experience and Education
- A degree in computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years in network/system engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HP, UCS), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-v, VDI), and enterprise storage.
- Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency using RMM tools and ticketing systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours
Preferred
- Previous Experience working in a NOC
- Experience with cloud computing, networking and hybrid infrastructure environments. (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with Cisco Meraki networking stack
- Experience with supporting high compliance environments
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools.
- Experience in project work and cross-departmental collaboration.
