JOB SUMMARY:
The Ski & Ride School Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. Instructor Apprentices should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for skiing or snowboarding with our guests. Instructor Apprentices are responsible for assisting instructors in coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, assist in snow removal and hill preparation, and develop their skiing/boarding experience throughout the season. The instructor apprentice position is a position for 14-15 year old's beginning their instructor career!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Instructor Apprentice responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist instructors in coaching guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that is exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.
- Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.
- Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.
- Assist in snow removal and maintaining all entrances to the Lesson and Rental Center, Children’s Center, Ski Equipment Storage, and Employee Locker Room.
- Assist in hill preparation including, but not limited to, setting panels, signage, mazes, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Age: 14
- Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
- Background check required.
- Ski/ride at an intermediate level
- Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.
- Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
JOB TYPE: Winter Seasonal, Part Time
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Compensation: Begins at $16 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service.
