The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator plans and directs disaster response or crisis management activities, provides disaster preparedness training, and prepares emergency plans and procedures for natural (e.g., wildfires, floods, earthquakes, avalanches), wartime, or technological (e.g., power plant emergencies, hazardous materials spills, or cybersecurity event) disasters or active shooter situations.
What You'll Do:
- Functions as the Emergency Operations Planning and Preparedness Coordinator for both Emergency Management and Disaster Response.
- Leads the Hospital Emergency Preparedness Committee.
- Participates in the development and annual maintenance of the facility's written disaster plans and procedures to ensure effective multi-hazard disaster response.
- Coordinates hospital training programs, and emergency operations drills to prepare hospital staff to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
- Writes after action reports and facility improvement plans using current Federal Homeland Security, accreditation and local county requirements and submits all after action reports to related agencies.
- Coordinates the implementation of all HPP/HRSA grant initiatives.
- Conducts exercises to test the hospitals response to a variety of crisis situations.
- Annually reviews and updates the hospital's Emergency Management (EM) Plan.
- Prepares for annual audits by hospital accreditors (such as the DNV).
Who You Are:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, team facilitation and project management.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma required, Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
- Certified Emergency Manager from California Emergency Services Association (CESA) or International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) preferred.
Job Information:
- Part-time, varied shifts.
- Starting wage $34.15 to $41.39 based on qualifications.
