Job Summary:
The Addiction Specialist Physician will provide direct clinical care at the Tarrant County Jail to individuals with substance use disorders, primarily opioid use disorder, as part of a comprehensive jail-based Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. This role is critical in supporting recovery, reducing recidivism, and improving health outcomes for justice-involved individuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates and delivers evidence-based addiction treatment services, including MAT, within the correctional setting.
2. Conducts assessments, diagnoses substance use disorders and develops individualized treatment plans.
3. Prescribes and monitors FDA-approved medications for substance use disorders.
4. Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group guidelines.
5. Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
6. Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior.
7. Collaborates with referring physicians, residents, clinical, and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
8. Supports academic, educational and research initiatives, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
9. Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
10. Build positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
11. Serves as a community resource.
12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Position-Specific Details:
· Provider Schedule: 20 hours/week
· Call Schedule: None

Qualifications:
· Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
· Successfully completed an accredited residency program
· Board eligible in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
