Community Information:

The physician will participate in the provision of high quality medical and health care, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care and service. Provides healthcare and treatment of patients within the scope of urology practice as defined by one's training and/or Board Certification. Models behaviors consistent with group practice and Fairview values.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.
  • Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs
  • Consults with and make appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.
  • Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.
  • Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.
  • Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.
  • Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.
  • Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.
  • Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.
  • May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
  • Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients


Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an accredited school of medicine
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME or AOA training program
  • Board Certified/Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges

  • Additional licensing and certifications per specialty
