Responsibilities
Margaritaville at Sea is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the operational, commercial, and strategic direction of our onboard photography department across the fleet. This role serves as the primary liaison between the corporate office and shipboard photo teams, ensuring seamless execution of brand standards, guest experience, and revenue goals. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, drive sales performance, manage logistics and compliance, and champion innovation in photography services. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the cruise experience through high-quality visual storytelling and exceptional service delivery.
Essential Functions:

Operational Oversight: The Shoreside Photo Manager is responsible for leading the onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of shipboard photography teams across the fleet. Acting as the primary liaison between the corporate office and onboard photo departments, this role ensures alignment with Margaritaville at Sea brand standards, operational goals, and service excellence. The Shoreside Photo Manager oversees fleet-wide photo operations from a shoreside perspective, driving consistency in guest experience and departmental performance. Key responsibilities include developing and enhancing standard operating procedures (SOPs), providing coaching and performance management to onboard photo managers, and coordinating scheduling, staffing levels, and crew rotations to support voyage-specific needs.

Sales & Revenue Management: Monitor and analyze sales performance across the fleet to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, promotions, and package offerings aimed at driving onboard revenue growth. Collaborate closely with shipboard teams to optimize product placement and implement effective upselling strategies that enhance guest engagement and maximize profitability.

Guest Experience & Service: Ensure photography products and services consistently meet or exceed guest expectations by maintaining high standards of quality and innovation. Lead the rollout of new photography services, products, and technologies—including prints, digital packages, and photo books—across the fleet. Provide shoreside support in resolving escalated guest service issues referred by onboard teams, ensuring timely and effective solutions that uphold the brand’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Logistics & Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement, distribution, and inventory control of photography equipment, supplies, and branded merchandise to ensure operational readiness across the fleet. Ensure photo labs, printers, and digital systems are properly maintained and fully operational on all vessels, supporting consistent service delivery and high-quality guest experiences.

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with corporate policies, maritime safety standards, and data privacy regulations across all photography operations. Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, covering revenue performance, guest satisfaction, team effectiveness, and operational challenges. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage image rights and usage policies, safeguarding brand integrity and protecting guest privacy.

Innovation & Strategic Growth: Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance the quality, efficiency, and innovation of photography services across the fleet. Identify and develop new business opportunities in photography and videography to expand service offerings and diversify revenue streams, ensuring the brand remains competitive and forward-thinking in a dynamic market.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Experience:

3–5 years of progressive experience in photography operations, with at least 2–3 years in a management or supervisory role.

Demonstrated experience working with international teams and managing remote or shipboard operations.

Proven success in developing and implementing photography programs, including training, merchandising, and ensuring brand consistency.

Background in retail or onboard revenue-generating operations is a plus.

Prior experience in the cruise, resort, or theme park industry is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of photography workflows, equipment, and digital imaging technologies.

Familiarity with brand standards, merchandising strategies, and guest experience principles.

Awareness of operational logistics, staffing models, and crew rotation planning.

Knowledge of hospitality industry practices and onboard service delivery.

Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse, multicultural teams.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent travel and remote team engagement.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: 25%
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-person,” which means the physical office in Orlando.

Holidays – All full-time and part-time with benefits employees receive days off for 10 company-wide holidays, plus 2 additional floating holidays to be taken at the employee’s discretion.

Vacation Time – All full-time employees at the below the Director level start with 15 days/year; Director and above level have Discretionary Time Off, which for Directors is generally 15 days and for VPs and above 21 days. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work.
