What We're Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Temporary Coordinator-Center for Writing Excellence. The temporary Coordinator of the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) supports the Managing Director and Directors by overseeing daily operations, supervising student staff, and maintaining scheduling and reporting systems. This full-time, 40-hour per week, in-person position ensures the smooth functioning of the CWE. This position is scheduled to start on January 5th and conclude in late March.
An Associates degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A bachelors degree and four years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and experience will not be considered in lieu of one another.

- Experience in educational, tutoring, or academic support settings
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, data management, and office communication tools
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Operations Management and Administrative Support
- Manage daily CWE operations and workflow
- Oversee WCOnline scheduling system and generate weekly usage reports
- Monitor CWE email and Teams channels; draft and send mass communications
- Reserve rooms and send calendar invites for events and meetings
- Maintain the CWE’s physical space
- Handle Tutoring Writing student placements, mentor matching, and related record-keeping
- Provide administrative support at leadership and staff meetings
- Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with university policies
- Communicate statistics and usage with other campus entities, such as the Success Center
Student Staff Supervision
- Manage schedules, time-off requests, and coverage for absences
- Manage hiring process: job requisitions, applications, interviews, and onboarding
- Train new office assistants, coordinate professional development, and review daily shift reports
- Approve biweekly timecards and handle HR paperwork (separations, pay adjustments, hours changes)
- Serve as a liaison between student staff and CWE leadership
- Monitor orphan reports and communicate with consultants when incomplete
Other
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
