SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for 250-450 employees and monthly payroll for over 50 contractors
- Review and reconcile payroll to general ledger and related tax liabilities
- Creates and uploads payroll and payroll liability details from payroll system into accounting software
- Conducts monthly benefits reconciliations
- Sets up new contractors in payroll and accounting system
- Serves as employee liaison for payroll system questions and issues, performs payroll help and trainings for staff and contractors
- Performs billings and accounts receivables for contracts and grants, including reconciliation of grant billings to the general ledger and respective grant spend-downs
- Creates and uploads accounts receivable billings and receipts from client billing system into accounting system
- Enters payments and adjustments into client billing system
- Identifies, researches and resolves billing variances to maintain accuracy and currency
- Monitors customer accounts for nonpayment and communicates with clients regarding outstanding receivables
- Ability to construct and upload entries into accounting software via excel
Qualifications
Candidates must have:

- Demonstrate strong sense of urgency and initiative
- Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented, accurate and efficient
- Ability to perform duties in Paycom (payroll), accounting ERP Sage Intacct, School Care Works, Excel, Word, Outlook, and ability to learn new systems as needed
- Due to the high level of detail necessary to perform uploads into Excel, must possess Excel experience with a high proficiency level and have experience with developing calculations and reporting structures
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three years’ experience performing payroll and accounting; accounts payables and receivables. College degree (bachelors or associates) in accounting, finance, or economics is preferred.
