Job Description:

Summary:
 

The Enrollment Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in writing and executing marketing-informed communication strategies and plans. The role executes outreach and marketing and communication initiatives, which will engage and convert prospective graduate students to enrollment. Responsibilities will include concepting and writing compelling campaigns, while driving brand visibility, among domestic and international audiences. This position will establish an admissions communications contact strategy, inclusive of automated online and offline messaging channels, equipping the admissions teams to own all of the touch-points a prospective graduate student experiences in their interaction with the institution. The role consults with marketing agency partners to integrate journey mapping and communications flows, in a more consistent enrollment marketing brand voice.

Essential Functions:
 

1.) Writing

  • Collaborate with admissions leads to develop and/or optimize comprehensive communications plans to support admissions goals. Craft compelling content for various communication channels, including email, SMS text messages, social media, marketing/media web landing pages. Advise on SEO opportunities. Utilizing best practices, the incumbent will collect existing comms plans, via audit and collaborate with teams to establish governance and uniformity across graduate admissions communications operations. You will liaise between school admissions teams and OGPS marketing to create synergy to fuel all admissions communication materials.

2.) Technology

  • Collaborate with Technical Product Manager and program CPLs to become familiar with AU stages of Salesforce implementation and make informed contributions to processes. Incorporate yield analysis recommendations and use conversion rate optimization (CRO) insights to improve web landing page performance. Develop strong relationships with school-unit admissions stakeholders, University Communications and Marketing (UCM) and Office of Information Technology (OIT). Maintain dashboard of tactical performance metrics. Explore emerging AI tools to improve effectiveness of existing communications plans.

3.) Content/Social Media

  • Lead administrator on the graduate admissions social media accounts; concepting, writing, content creation, approvals, etc. Maintain an organized repository of sharable, nurture-friendly content. Research, identify and conduct outreach to alumni prospects to curate testimonial content.


4.) Other Duties

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Salary Range:

  • $65,000 - $70,000 annually.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience; 2+ years of experience in a similar role, the admissions or marketing department of a higher education institution, ed tech or equivalent in training and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Strong marketing orientation.

  • Experience with audience segmentation and persona interpretation.

  • Experience applying journey mapping techniques to content development strategies.

  • Ability to interact with staff, faculty and other members of the university community in a consistently courteous and respectful manner, with an awareness of perspectives and a commitment to inclusivity.

  • Familiarity with CRM software applications and admissions practices.

  • Working knowledge of marketing and admissions technology and related web functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies.

  • Familiarity with digital media, lead generation campaigns.

  • Comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to be flexible, agile and quick to adapt.

  • Experience with custody of a brand voice in shaping multimedia communications, including social media.

  • Must be a team player and exhibit initiative and forward-thinking skills.
