Position Overview

As a Principal Software Engineer specializing in Salesforce, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem. Reporting to the SVP, Lead Salesforce Platform Engineer, you will work with a global team of full-time and contract developers to turn complex business requirements into effective and timely technical solutions across multiple Salesforce orgs.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will be instrumental in setting the architectural standards and technical vision for the team. You will function as a bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team, ensuring the platform is a powerful engine for business growth. Your success is defined by your ability to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions with speed and predictability.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews for a high-performing, globally distributed team of Salesforce developers while participating actively in all phases of the full Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including requirements analysis, design, and implementation

  • Contribute to and enforce best practices for the entire development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, code quality, testing, and CI/CD.

  • Architect, design, and build robust solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and modern integration patterns. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for the most complex features, proof-of-concepts, and critical bug fixes.

  • Convert system requirements into logical program designs, code modules, and stable application systems. Create technical design documents for software solutions independently.

  • Assist in overseeing the technical health of all Salesforce instances, including governance, data integrity, and strategies for consolidation and optimization.

  • Build strong working relationships with business leaders and translate abstract business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and user stories and results-oriented technical roadmap for the Salesforce platform.

  • Manage software release processes, including packaging for deployment and working with Configuration Management for the release of applications into web projects and provide production support, including after-hours assistance when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7+ years focused specifically on the Salesforce platform

  • Experience in a senior technical or lead role

  • Deep understanding of Salesforce platforms and related technologies, including Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds.

  • Expertise in the software development lifecycle, application development, and technical problem-solving.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and technologies including:

    • CRM & Platforms: Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Lightning Platform, nCino, Apex, LWC, Aura Components, SOQL, SOSL, Platform Events, API Integration), Salesforce DX

    • Programming & Frameworks: Apex, C#, ASP.NET (MVC, WebApi), JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Angular, AJAX, .NET Framework

    • Database Technology: MSSQL Server, T-SQL

    • Development Practices & Tools: Agile/Scrum, CI/CD (Gearset, AutoRabit), Git, JIRA, Visual Studio, VS Code, Salesforce DevOps, FFLIB Apex Mocks

    • Integration Technologies: REST APIs, SOAP APIs

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $117,000.00 - $158,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
