- Monday to Thursday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Thursday to Sunday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Shifts alternate every two months between the beginning and end of the week.
Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems. This includes operating wastewater analysis laboratories, wastewater collection systems, pre-treatment systems, and full treatment systems. Key responsibilities involve collecting samples, performing chemical analyses, making system adjustments, ensuring regulatory compliance, performing mathematical calculations, completing computerized reports, and maintaining operational logs. Additional tasks may include equipment maintenance, operating spotter trucks and forklifts, groundskeeping, painting, and general housekeeping.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Preferred: 1+ years of wastewater experience.
Computer Skills:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Certification:
- Must successfully complete a stormwater training program selected by site management within thirty days.
- Must complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University, Sacramento, within twelve months.
- Must obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with state regulations.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility.
- Must meet and maintain the minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50-75 pounds).
- Ability to climb and descend stairs or ladders.
- Ability to work in unsanitary conditions and with hazardous chemicals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Travel:
- 1 to 2 trips per year.
