Order Fulfillment Planner - 1st Shift (Strasburg, OH)

📍 Location: Strasburg, OH
🕐 Shift: 1st Shift (Full-Time)

  • Office hours are generally 7:00am to 4:00pm, however this position may be required to come in early or stay late based on demand and business needs

We’re growing fast — and looking for a motivated Order Fulfillment Planner to join our growing team in Strasburg, OH.

The Order Fulfillment Planner is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound shipping activities to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of customer orders. This includes prioritizing, pulling, scanning, packaging, and preparing shipping documentation. You’ll serve as the key contact for carriers and customers, arranging shipments and resolving any issues that arise, while leading and developing warehouse associates to achieve outstanding service and performance. This position has 3-5 direct reports, and regularly interacts with other departments at this facility and others.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct, train, and develop Order Fulfillment warehouse associates to achieve 99.9% on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance.
  • Coordinate logistics for domestic and export shipments according to customer requirements and compliance standards.
  • Schedule carrier and customer appointments and manage shipping communications.
  • Resolve shipping and logistics issues to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
  • Prepare and distribute required shipping documentation (pick lists, bills of lading, packing slips, commercial invoices, etc.).
  • Perform and audit all shipping transactions in Syspro and Datascope systems.
  • Enter shipment details into customer ERP systems (such as SAP).
  • Collaborate with internal departments to maintain accuracy and efficiency throughout the order fulfillment process.
  • Participate in inventory support and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

IMPORTANT! This position is a working leader, and you will be performing duties alongside your team. We will be looking for a candidate who is energized by this type of dynamic work.

Requirements

Education: Post-high-school education (certificate from college or technical school).

Experience:

  • 6 months to 1 year in shipping, logistics, or related roles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Understanding of MRP concepts and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, carriers, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Regular lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting of more than 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined by site safety policies.
