BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
  • Must be an active member of a local Baptist church.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an earned doctorate, or appropriate terminal degree in the discipline, or a Master’s degree with 18 hours in the discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in law enforcement preferred
  • Experience leading in law enforcement
  • Undergraduate teaching experience.
  • Experience with developing new curriculum for Criminal Justice courses.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide leadership to the Dean Institute for Criminal Justice Leadership, including:

  • Networking and connecting with the law enforcement community.
  • Coordinating outreach opportunities for law enforcement officials in the form of conferences or training workshops.
  • Coordinating and supervising internships in the Criminal Justice field.
  • Communicate with stakeholders as an advocate for the Dean Institute for Criminal Justice Leadership

2. Fulfill faculty responsibilities as listed in contract and job description for faculty.

3. Teach appropriate load as decided by the faculty contract and supervisors.

4. Coordinate scheduling for courses in discipline, meeting appropriate requirements for class offerings, faculty loads, and scheduling deadlines.

5. Schedule regular meetings with the faculty in the discipline to monitor data and ensure ongoing program improvement.

6. Effectively multitask and demonstrate responsibility for coordinating and supervising multiple ongoing projects.

7. Listen and respond to student and faculty complaints in an appropriate manner.

8. Foster a cohesive effort among faculty in the program, including adjunct faculty, in meeting department goals.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time faculty position. 

 

WORK LOCATION: 

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
