Qualifications


POSITION SUMMARY

This position will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio in managing all building related maintenance and repairs. This includes supervising the team, coordinating billing and managing small projects. Duties also include managing vendors and being proactive in building maintenance that improves the stores and reduces costs. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate team, projects, and billing/budgets.
  2. Visit locations on a daily basis.
  3. Manage work orders and ensure work completed complies with the specifications.
  4. Assist in prioritizing work to be completed on daily or weekly basis.
  5. Responsible for maintenance work orders and provide customer with feedback and costs.
  6. Review work orders to ensure proper documentation of assignments.
  7. Submit requests for all supplies, publications, and periodicals for office and vehicles.
  8. Obtain quotes for equipment/supplies when necessary.
  9. Enhance safety program by following all Federal, State, OSHA and agency safety requirements; wear safety equipment; follow the use of chemicals and equipment according to the manufacturer’s directions; attend required training.
  10. Comply with all occupational safety programs and procedures.
  11. Obtain quotes from contractors when work orders are unable to be fulfilled by the Goodwill maintenance team.
  12. Keep work-site free from debris; remove obstructions from permanent aisles and inform manager of possible safety hazards in a timely manner.
  13. Ensure the maintenance team members present a neat and professional image. 
  14. Ensure the safety and security of all tools, equipment and materials at all times.
  15. Provide input to director on team member performance and conduct for performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions. 
  16. Adhere to, and ensure adherence to, all Loss Prevention and inventory control and compliance, risk management, and ethics policies and procedures. Safeguard donations and all Goodwill property and resources; secure from harm, theft, accidental loss, or disposal. Promptly investigate or participate in investigations for all reported incidents.
  17. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  2.   Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility maintenance and supervisory role; 5 years’ experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge of general construction, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  4.   Previous experience utilizing an electronic work order system.
  5. Proficiency using a computer to produce information and documents -Microsoft Word and Excel.
  6. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  7. For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
